The Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Lab at USC is directed by Dr. Stacy Fritz, PhD, PT. Senior Faculty in this laboratory includes Dr. Bruce McClenaghan, PED, PT. Their work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, and the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Research Fund with research findings published in journals such as Stroke, Physical Therapy, Gait and Posture, and Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Individuals have traveled both nationally and internationally to participate in the different research studies offered in the Rehabilitation Lab.
Dr. Fritz’s primary research interest is in rehabilitation following chronic neurological insult. Her primary area of focus is intensive physical therapy following chronic stroke and traumatic brain injury.
Dr. McClenaghan is Director of the Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program and a licensed physical therapist. His primary research interest is in motor rehabilitation with a major focus on posture-balance-gait in older adults, children and special populations. A secondary interest is in physical activity and rehabilitation.
